With Bunny Sigler producing, this should have been a defining moment for both, but it doesn't even come close. Still, he kept rolling, managing the occasional hit and escaping the one-hit-wonder tag. His voice was full and charismatic but when he got older, his voice thinned and lost more flavor than an open can of beer. When Carl Carlton came out the chute, he drew comparisons to Stevie Wonder.
